The Broccoli Bake Off: Our First Hosted Event

On August 9th, we made history for Broccoli Country Club—hosting our first-ever tournament, The Broccoli Bake Off, at the one-and-only Goat Hill Park in Oceanside, CA. Sunshine, tight greens, good people, and a whole lot of competitive fun—exactly the community golf day we’ve been building toward.

Tournament Details
Where: Goat Hill Park, Oceanside, CA
Format: 2-Person Best Ball (60% Net) → Top 2 teams from each flight (four flights) advanced to a Horse Race finale
On-Course Contests: Long Drive, five Closest-to-the-Pins
Status: Sold Out (a 112 person cap turned into a 124 person tournament)

The Vibe

From range balls and breakfast burritos at sunrise to the last putt in the Horse Race, the energy was loud and locked in. Goat Hill Park did what Goat Hill does—firm fairways, coastal breeze, and greens that keep you honest. A challenge from start to finish. And when the Horse Race kicked off, the gallery packed in around the closing holes to watch teams grind under pressure. Big shots, bigger reactions.

Community Over Everything

The Bake Off wasn’t just about numbers on a card—it was about the community coming together around golf, style, and shared respect for the game. If you were there, you felt it. It was the perfect blend of fun & high intensity competitive golf. That’s the club and community that we’re building. This first group of people will always be special to us because you took a chance on an unknown. We hope that we delivered everything you expected and more.

What Players Took Home

We wanted every participant to feel the love and gratitude for signing up for our event. We wanted to give each player the full experience, not just a tee time. Registration included: a range bucket, greens fees, commemorative tournament shirt & hat from Sean Toomey, tournament bag tag from Rustic Golf Provisions, custom ball mark from Coastal Clubworks, day pass to Bermuda Club, a rolling tray from Permanent Holiday, and custom tournament themed product from Broccoli Country Club.

Highlights We Loved
It was amazing to get to meet so many people out there (some familiar, some homies, and some new faces). It was fun to watch the strategy on the course as many teams played smart in the best ball format (pick your spots, trust your partner). Obviously the horse race drama—eliminations, clutch saves, and one absolute dart that lit up the crowd. Some absolutely mammoth long drives (winner hit 360+). Lastly it was great to see how people interacted with one another. The tournament was genuine, the vibes were real, and we couldn't expect a better result.

Why It Mattered

The Bake Off was our first swing at hosting—and it proved what we already believed: there’s a real lane for a golf community that blends competition, flower, culture, and good taste. We’re here to make tournaments feel memorable, not mechanical. Details matter. People matter more.

What’s Next

If you missed out, don’t worry—we’re just getting started. More events, more collabs, and more ways to get involved with Broccoli Country Club are on deck. Keep an eye out for future dates and drops. To everyone who showed up, competed, volunteered, supported, or simply brought good energy—thank you. The Broccoli Bake Off set the bar. Now we raise it.
